St. Louis, MO (KSDK) - The new University of Missouri president is hitting the ground running.
Timothy Wolfe was introduced Tuesday as the 23rd president of the four-campus system. Sporting a bright red UM St. Louis tie, Timothy Wolfe was up early-7:30 a.m.-to greet faculty, staff and community leaders. One university official summed up Wolfe this way: he's from Missouri.
Wolfe graduated from the Columbia campus with a business degree. He was an executive with several high-powered firms, Novell Software and IBM. Wolfe is only the second business person to lead Missouri's largest public college system.
One of the first issues he may face next year is a possible tuition increase which the board of curators is expected to discuss at its next meeting.
Wolfe says he'll be talking to students and staff for the next few months but he'll mostly be listening to their concerns.
