Wildwood, Mo (KSDK) -- A 12-year old Wildwood student is giving new meaning to the term young entrepreneur.
Cole Staehling is only in sixth grade but his artwork is already being sold in stores
Cole's paintings, all transportation-related, will be sold in Garden Ridge stores across the USA.
Cole's series of for-sale paintings of boats, trains, airplanes and buses, were inspired by family trips across the country and overseas.
School officials say his new venture can be an example for other students.
Cole says it's exciting.
There's always value in following your interests and your dreams and your passions," said Rockwood Valley Middle School Principal Andrew Loiterstein. "This is a great example of what can happen when you really put your mind to doing something that you love to do."
It feels good, I guess," said Cole. "I think that it's good for me and it'll help me to keep drawing, just like, you know, inspire me to do more paintings."
Cole says his Mom is his biggest influence. Angela Staehling is a professional painter and she helped him get the Garden Ridge contract.
