St. Louis, MO (KSDK) - The St. Louis Circuit Attorney's Office has charged a 26-year-old man with having sex with his girlfriend without telling her he was HIV positive.
According to court documents, Jermaine Johnson was charged with four counts of reckless risk of infecting another person with HIV. Prosecutors claim between January 21, 2009 and December 14, 2011, Johnson exposed the victim to HIV infection through vaginal sexual intercourse.
The circuit attorney's office previously charged Johnson with forcible rape, three counts of armed criminal action, sodomy, kidnapping, burglary, property damage and second-degree domestic assault.
Court documents filed at the time accuse Johnson of breaking into a woman's house in the 4400 block of Pennsylvania on September 12, 2011. He allegedly covered her lighter fluid, threatened her with a fireplace lighter, choked and raped her for several hours. Johnson also allegedly smashed the woman's computer monitor and flat screen television causing more than $750 in damage.
Prior to these incidents, Jermaine Johnson was convicted of second-degree robbery in 2005.
