Bomb threat cancels classes at SWIC

Southwestern Illinois College evacuates.

Belleville, IL (KSDK) - Classes are cancelled the rest of the day at Southwestern Illinois College in Belleville due to a bomb threat called into 911.

SWIC spokesperson Mike Fleming said someone called 911 just before 8 a.m. and said there was a "bomb at Belleville SWIC."

The campus was evacuated.  No one is being allowed in or out of the campus.

St Clair County Special Emergency Services

Alton Police Canine Division
St. Louis City Police Canine Division

The campus was given the all clear by 2 p.m.  Classes are expected to resume on Saturday.
