Spring Branch, TX (KHOU/CNN) - Student dress codes can be a drag for teenagers.

Some high school students in Spring Branch, Texas are protesting a ban on yoga pants.

Some parents even think it goes too far.

What is or what is not appropriate to wear?

Sometimes dress is in the eye of the beholder, but at Memorial High, where yoga pants violate the student dress code, it's the administration that has the final say. Or is it?

On Thursday, dozens of female students donned the forbidden pants in protest.

Their act of defiance did not go unpunished. Some students said they were given in-school suspension for reasons they don't understand.

School officials say dress code is spelled out in student planners and is in place to prevent classroom disruptions and safety hazards. But some parents believe this district has much more issues to tangle with.

A school district spokesperson says administrators will meet with student leaders next week to discuss the student dress code that continues to fuel a wardrobe war on the high school campus.
