Madison County, Ill (KSDK) -- Illinois State Police said they believe alcohol was a factor in an ATV crash that killed a Granite City man.
Illinois State Police said Donald W. Enyart, Sr. was following another ATV on southbound Old Alton Road, just south of Meadowlane Drive, on February 1. Both ATVs went into the northbound lanes to pass another vehicle, and Enyart lost control as he attempted to switch back to the southbound lanes.
Enyart's ATV went off the road, hit a light pole and overturned.
Enyart and his passenger were thrown from the vehicle.
Enyart was flown to Saint Louis University Hospital where he died. The passenger was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Illinois State Police said neither person was wearing helmets.
