St. Louis, MO (KSDK) - Super Bowl weekend is unquestionably the biggest time of the year for wings. Teriyaki, hot, mild, garlic spicy, boneless or traditional, are just a few flavors that millions of Americans enjoy.

According to National Chicken Council, more than 1.25 billion chicken wings will be eaten this Sunday. It's also the biggest eating day of the year, after Thanksgiving. Imagine this: if the wings were laid end to end, they would reach one-quarter of the way to the moon and they'd circle the Earth more than twice.

There is even a stat depending on where you live. The Mid-Atlantic, which encompasses Giants territory, is 24 percent more likely to eat wings and as for the Pats fans, they're six percent less likely to indulge.

So this Sunday, may you add to the numbers and enjoy football, fun with friends and wings.
