Edwardsville, IL (KSDK) - A 62-year-old Troy, Illinois man was charged Thursday for allegedly harassing and making threats to someone via telephone, the Madison County Sheriff's Office said.
According to Captain T. Mike Dixon, a sheriff's office spokesman, the Madison County Sheriff's Office launched an investigation on January 31 regarding threats made by James Rogers.
Dixon said investigators discovered Rogers attempted to make telephone contact with the victim on January 26. Rogers did not speak with the victim, but did leave a message threatening to kill the victim and his family.
The Madison County Sheriff's Office was made aware of the threat and took Rogers into custody without incident.
James Rogers remains in custody at the Madison County Jail on $150,000 bond.
