Webster Groves, MO (KSDK) - An award-winning master baker is sharing some recipes for sweet treats to make for your sweetheart this Valentine's Day.
Tim Brennan, owner of Cravings in Webster Groves, says chocolate truffles are the perfect present for the international day for love. His recipe is as follows:
2 cups heavy cream
1/2 stick unsalted butter
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 pound Valrhona Chocolate, chopped into small pieces
Heat the cream with butter and sugar until it just begins to come to a boil. Remove from the heat and add the chocolate. Make sure the chocolate is completely submerged and let sit for 5 minutes. Mix thoroughly until the chocolate is melted. Place in a food processor and process for one minute to make sure it is completely smooth.
Use a small melon baller to shape into balls. Roll gently to smooth rough edges.
Sift together 1/2 cup powdered sugar and 1/4 cup cocoa (Dutch-processed). Place in a shallow bowl.
Roll each ball in the cocoa mixture until covered. Chill.
Bring to room temperature 30 minutes before serving.
Cravings will be serving a special brunch tomorrow, and will be open Valentine's Day evening. Customers should bring in their St. Louis Originals card to receive a discount.
