Marriage is a freedom, not a privilege. Marriage takes place when two grown adults love each other and decide to commit to loving each other through thick and thin. I am completely sick of the gay community being denied a freedom that they were born with as Americans. It really makes me wonder how my grandmother felt when the blacks were looked down to, belittled, called dirty, not allowed to use the same buildings as whites, and so on. I wonder if she stood up for their freedoms, just as I'm standing up for the gay community's freedoms... Back then, it was a case of the whites acting superior to the blacks. Today, it's a case of heterosexuals acting superior to homosexuals. It's mean-spirited, hateful, wrong, insensitive, and everything that I'm trying to teach my children NOT to be. I am a married woman. My husband and I have been married for 13 years and we have 2 sons. I am not homosexual. I do not have a close family member who is homosexual. I have distant family members who are homosexual and I have friends who are homosexual. The fact that they are looked down upon because of the way God chose to make them, literally makes me ill.
