Monroe County, IL (KSDK) - Two men were killed in a car accident Tuesday evening near Red Bud, Illinois.
Illinois State Police say 24-year-old Curtis Owen was driving a car at a high rate of speed south on Illinois 159, about 1 mile south of LL Road when his vehicle veered off to the west side of the roadway and struck a utility pole, and then a tree.
Owen and 28-year-old John Macklin, who was a passenger in the car, were killed in the accident.
A 21-year-old male and a 20-year-old female were also in the car and both were seriously injured.
The cause of the wreck is under investigation.
