St. Louis County (KSDK) - St. Louis County police say the search for two scrap metal thieves led them to a man who had fallen into a quarry.
Officers say they started looking for at least two suspects around 1:00 a.m. The search started after police received a report of a U-Haul truck containing stolen scrap metal.
The search for suspects reportedly took the officers to Central Stone Quarry, off of 367 Highway, northwest of Spanish Lake and just south of the Missouri River. They took one of the suspects into custody, and found the other had fallen into the quarry. The man reportedly fell from 30 to 60 feet and had to be removed from the scene by helicopter.
There's no word yet on the suspects' names or the man's condition.
