Sen. Roy Blunt. (R-Missouri)

Clayton, MO (KSDK) - Protestors took to the street over a controversial health care issue. They showed up in Clayton in front of U.S. Senator Roy Blunt's office.
The Missouri Republican wasn't there, but more than 125 protestors were.
The issue is birth control insurance coverage. The signs read "Honk for Birth Control" and motorists did as they passed the intersection of Hanley and Bonhomme.
Last month President Barack Obama enacted a rule, which he later modified a bit that would require insurance companies to cover birth control without co-pays for women working at faith-based institutions.
Blunt is offering an amendment that would reverse that decision.
An umbrella group known as the Coalition to Protect Women's Health, says Blunt is wrong.
In a statement Senator Blunt said,"This issue is not about one group or one set of beliefs - it's about preserving and protecting the religious freedom that Americans have enjoyed for more than 220 years."
And even though Senator Blunt was not around, those who showed up for the rally say they hope he got the message and will change his mind.
Blunt is strongly supported by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops.
And in the Missouri Senate, John Lamping (R-24), has introduced similar legislation.
