St. Louis (KSDK) -- Break out your green gear and head to downtown St. Louis or Dogtown for the annual St. Patrick's Day events on March 17, 2012.
1. St. Patrick's Day Parade Run
Thousands of people are expected to be in downtown St. Louis for the 2012 St. Patrick's Day Parade Run. The run is March 17 at 9 a.m. Day-of run registration, late number pick-up and T-shirt distribution opens at 7:30 am at Kiener Plaza, at the NW corner of Broadway & Market Street.
Start - Broadway & Walnut
1-Mile - Chouteau Blvd. & Tucker Blvd.
2-Mile - Market St. & 17th St.
3-Mile - Market St. & Garrison Ave.
4-Mile - Olive St. & 20th St.
Finish - 8th Street

2. St. Patrick's Day Parade (Downtown St. Louis)
The parade will take place rain or shine on March 17 at 11:30 a.m. It will begin at 18th and Market streets, and proceed east to its conclusion at Broadway and Market streets. Regularly noted as one of the top in the country, the parade will be comprised of over 120 units, including marching bands, floats, huge cartoon-character balloons, 5,000 plus marchers, and lots of clowns.
People will be able to park at meters, but some will be restricted due to road closures.

3. Ancient Order of Hibernians' Dogtown St. Patrick's Day Parade
Marching bands, floats, family clans and more! The parade starts at noon at Tamm and Oakland Avenue and ends at Tamm & Manchester.
Parking will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. People can park in the Saint Louis Zoo South parking lot and in Forest Park.

St. Patrick's Day Metro Transit:
Bi-State area residents heading to the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Downtown St. Louis can avoid the hassles of finding parking, paying for parking, traffic jams and closed streets by riding MetroLink. Parade goers can park free at any Metro Park-Ride lot in Missouri or Illinois and take MetroLink to any of five MetroLink Stations downtown. The Union Station, Civic Center, Stadium, and 8th and Pine MetroLink Stations are all within two to three blocks off the Market Street parade route. The Convention Center MetroLink station is about six blocks north of Market. All are within a short walk to the parade. Metro will monitor the MetroLink platformsand will add service if needed.
Even though traffic will be detoured due to the parade, MetroBus is another good option tomorrow to get to the parade. Residents can take a MetroBus to the Civic Center MetroLink Station and walk north to Market Street. The Civic Center MetroLink Station serves 13 MetroBus routes from all over the region. In addition, the #70 Grand route serves the Union Station MetroLink Station.
Closed streets because of the Hibernian St. Patrick's Parade in the Dogtown neighborhood of St. Louis will also impact MetroBus routes on Saturday, but you can still get to Dogtown via MetroBus. Parade goers can take the #32 ML King Chouteau MetroBus to the Manchester and Tamm stop, and walk a ½ mile north to the intersection of Clayton and Tamm. Also, bus shuttles will run every 40 minutes from the Central West End Transit Center to St. Louis Community College at Forest Park. Exit the bus at the Oakland Avenue and Highlands Plaza Drive stop and walk about a ½ mile west on Oakland, across Hampton, to Clayton Avenue and Tamm. The Hibernian parade begins at 12:30 p.m.
