Ellington, MO (KSDK) -- A former employee of Sun Security Bank in Ellington, Missouri, has been sentenced for embezzling, the U.S. Attorney's Office said Monday.

66-year-old Thelma Black is sentenced to 27 months in prison and 5 years supervised release on charges of bank embezzlement.

Court documents say that Black was employed by Sun Security Bank and its predecessor from October 1982 to May 2011. From around 2000 to 2011, Black embezzled funds by transferring approximately $444,000 from a customer's bank account at Sun Security Bank into her own account, without the customer's knowledge or consent.

Black pled guilty in December 2011 to two felony counts of bank embezzlement and was ordered to pay restitution of $451,000.
