St. Louis (KSDK) - The Missouri Botanical Garden is set to receive $260,000 from the National Endowment for the Humanities.
The money will fund a project that will identify and describe hundreds of thousands of images of plant and animal life from around the world.
The project, called The Art of Life, will help scholars and educators who rely in visual resources for research and teaching.
The Art of Life will also develop software tools that will automatically identify and describe visual resources within more than 100,000 volumes and 38 million pages of historic literature through the Biodiversity Heritage Library.
