Brooklyn Park, MN (KSDK) - Three people found shot to death in a Minneapolis suburb Monday had ties to St. Louis.
In fact, family members say two of the victims moved from our area just last week.
James and Clover Bolden raised their children in Centreville, Illinois, but age and illness were taking their toll.
So, they packed up, and drove up to live with their daughter DeLois Brown.
"Her parents just moved to Minnesota with her one week ago yesterday. And they're gone now," said DeLois's brother-in-law Christopher Brown.
Family members say all three were fatally shot Monday.
It happened at Brown's home in the Minneapolis suburb of Brooklyn Park.
Authorities say she operated a daycare there, and a parent dropping a child off made the gruesome discovery.
Investigators say they're still searching for the gunman, a man in his twenties, who rode off on a BMX bike.
"Just in shock. We're a faith based family. We just believe God is going to bring us through this. We don't understand everything, but we're not to understand everything God does," said Christopher Brown.
They say DeLois too was a woman of faith, active in church, and in the church choir.
"When she wasn't in the daycare, she was at church. So that was just her life," he said.
And now she had planned to care for her parents. They said goodbye to their neighbors in Centreville last week.
"We've been here a long time and nobody was as loving and kind as the Boldens," said friend Sallie Chandler.
Chandler had known them since she moved in, back in 1967. She got the news of their deaths this afternoon.
"And we was just a family, a family really. When they left, we just cried, one another. Hate to see them go. But then to find out... I just don't believe it," said Chandler.
Christopher Brown says his sister flew up to Minneapolis Monday. The rest of the relatives plan to travel there once funeral arrangements are finalized.
