St. Louis (KSDK) - An inmate at the St. Louis City Justice Center jumped from the second floor to the first floor inside the building Monday night.

The inmate jumped shortly before 9 p.m. at the jail at Tucker and Walnut in downtown St. Louis.

Sources say the inmate was unconscious during the ambulance ride to an area hospital.

Kara Bowlin, spokesperson for City Hall, says the inmate was in a special needs section of the jail, and the injuries are not life-threatening.
