St. Louis, MO (KSDK) - The City of St. Louis Health Department says there is no public health risk concerning a recent steam pipe rupture in downtown after two separate tests for asbestos came back negative.
Asbestos fibers were detected after a steam pipe broke at 11th Street and Convention late last week. On Monday, two samples from the Lucas Lofts and the Globe Democrat building came back positive for asbestos.
On Tuesday, 14 swab samples tested negative for asbestos. Another 10 swabs came in Wednesday negative for asbestos.
The site of the steam pipe rupture is still being repaired at 11th Street and Convention Center Plaza.
