St. Louis (KSDK) -- The St. Louis Cardinals are correcting a problem with the First Pitch Tickets program.
Earlier this morning, they handed out 275 tickets for vouchers good for a pair of Cardinals tickets to the home opener.
A handful of fans came back to redeem their tickets for the vouchers and were told the vouchers were all gone.
Some fans waited in line for up to three and half hours for the vouchers.
After NewsChannel's 5 Ryan Dean's story at 10 a.m., the Cardinals contacted NewsChannel 5 and said they gave out too many ticket vouchers and working to correct the mistake.
The Cardinals located the upset fans who were still outside the stadium and gave them vouchers for the Cardinals tickets to be picked up before game time.
The Cardinals said anyone else who left with a ticket for a voucher, should come to the ticket window at Busch Stadium and get a voucher.
Some fans camped outside in tents across the street from Busch Stadium since Tuesday to get the First Pitch Tickets.
The first 275 fans in line paid $11.20 Friday morning for the tickets to get vouchers. Then, they will show up 10 minutes before the game begins to pick up their tickets. Their tickets can be anywhere in the stands -- from standing room-only to box seats.
NewsChannel 5's Ryan Dean met up with some of the campers and cooked eggs and bacon. Watch the video to see his interviews with the fans.
