Alexandria, VA (CNN) - A former CIA officer pleaded not guilty to charges of giving reporters classified information and lying to a CIA review board.

In the video you can see John Kiriakou entering court Friday in Alexandria, Virginia. He's the man on the left wearing glasses.

Investigators say Kiriakou gave classified information to journalists and lied to a CIA review board about material in a book he wrote.

Kiriakou worked for the CIA from 1990 to 2004.

The five-count indictment includes three charges under the Espionage Act, claiming Kiriakou revealed national defense information to individuals not authorized to receive it, specifically, reporters.

He faces a maximum of 45 years in prison if convicted on all charges.
