Oklahoma City, OK (KSDK) - Hobby Lobby Stores Inc. is raising its minimum wage for both full-time and part-time employees.
This is fourth consecutive year the Oklahoma-based arts and crafts retail chain has raised its minimum wage for employees.
Part-time workers will see a pay increase to $9 per hour. The wage for full-time employees will be nearly double the federal minimum wage: $13 per hour.
The federal minimum wage is $7.25 per hour.
Hobby Lobby has more than 15,300 employees working in more than 500 stores in 41 states.
Twenty-five U.S. states or territories have minimum wage rates the same as the federal rate. Eighteen states-as well as the District of Columbia-have rates higher than the federal rate.
Five states have no minimum wage laws.
KSDK
