O'Fallon, MO (KSDK) - Police in O'Fallon, Missouri are investigating an overnight shooting involving an officer in the Pin Oak Parc mobile home park.

Officers were called to the home near the intersection of Oak Bark Court and Fox Trotter Drive shortly after 2:10 a.m. in response to an "out of control" person. Neighbors reported hearing arguing coming from inside the home.

The caller told police his son and two others were "tripping on acid." The caller explained his son had taken out a golf club and began swinging it around the house, prompting the man to flee the home.

The first officer to arrive at the scene encountered a naked man hanging out of the driver's side window of a vehicle attempting to leave the residence. The naked man got into a violent altercation with the officer, who shot the man after all other attempts to subdue him failed.

The naked man, 21-year-old Scott Davis, a St. James resident, was taken to a local hospital to be treated for gunshot wounds to his leg and arm. He's listed in stable condition.

The police officer was treated at the hospital for injuries to his head, face, arms and legs.

Investigators learned Davis allegedly assaulted a 29-year-old woman in the home with the golf club prior to his fight with the police officer.

Davis has been charged with first-degree assault, armed criminal action, forcible rape, and first-degree assault on a law enforcement officer.

Bond is set at $500,000.
