St. Louis (KSDK) -- A man confessed to killing a long-time south St. Louis businessman.
James Blakey, 37, admitted to St. Louis Circuit Judge Timothy Wilson that he shot and killed James Hartzell, 74, last year. He was sentenced to seven years in prison.
Police said Hartzell first shot and wounded another man during an argument that night. The fight happened at Hartzell's home repair business on Ivanhoe.
Investigators said Blakey shot and killed Hartzell as he was driving off. Hartzell later died at a hospital.
Blakey was charged with involuntary manslaughter and armed criminal action.
