KSDK - Hail was a big problem in the area for Saturday's storms, from pea to teacup size.

From Wentzville to the Metro East, NewsChannel 5 received viewer video of the hail.

Hail so big and powerful, drivers were forced to pull over on Interstate-270. Video taken from NewsChannel 5's Sara Dayley showed windshields damaged and even blown out.

The skies opened up late this afternoon producing golf ball to tea cup size hail.

In Wentzville, hail forced people inside their homes. One viewer captured this video of hail bouncing off the grass in their backyard.

And scary moments in St. Charles; pounding hail sent people running for cover at the Lou Fuse Midwest Soccer Cup. Officials say the soccer games were able to resume play about an hour later.

Hail even caused damage in a popular hangout spot in the Central West End.

From the Central West End to Swansea, more pounding hail sent residents there looking for cover.
