ST. LOUIS (AP) - A man in his 80s is dead after falling or jumping from an Interstate 55 overpass in St. Louis.

The victim's name has not been released.

Authorities say the man dropped about 25 feet from the Lafayette Avenue overpass on Tuesday. He landed in the middle lane of northbound traffic, but was not hit by a car.

It wasn't clear why the man jumped.
