St. Louis (KSDK) - St. Louis is among the 31 finalists for this year's Beer City USA voting.
The contest focuses on the craft beer market in each of the finalist cities.
Here's a list of all the craft and micro-breweries in the St. Louis area we could think of. If we forgot any, we apologize, and let us know what we left out in the comment section.
Schlafly, Six Row, Square One, Four Hands, Civil Life, Morgan Street, Buffalo, Perennial, Urban Chestnut, Cathedral, Highland (Kirkwood), Exit 6 (Cottleville), Ferguson (Ferguson), O'Fallon (O'Fallon, MO), Trailhead (St. Charles).
Craft breweries are a booming business in the St. Louis area. Their numbers have nearly doubled in the last five years.
"I think people are looking not only for variety, but the inherent sense of local, which is very important in a lot of aspects," said Stephen Hale, chief brewer at the Schlafly Tap Room.
Florian Kuplent, Brewmaster at Urban Chestnut, says a smaller, more-intimate brewery allows visitors to better connect with people in their neighborhood.
"That's the advantage that we have is we can talk to the people who come into our tasting room on a daily basis," said Kuplent.
Asheville, North Carolina is the current Beer City USA champ, having won the contest each of the past three years.
Polls are open until May 13th, and you can only vote once per IP address.
