Jonesboro, AR (KSDK) - A former St. Louis radio personality was found dead Tuesday at a home in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
Craig Cornett, 46, was found by his ex-wife with whom he had reconciled.
Cornett's ex-wife told police she had texted him on Tuesday and did not receive a reply back. She thought he may have been with a friend of his who was in town from St. Louis.
Police say Cornett was found sitting upright in a chair. His ex-wife said she thought he was asleep, but when she tried to wake him she noticed he was cold to the touch, he was not breathing, and his feet were purple. She said she noticed his eyes and neck were swollen and he was stiff.
Authorities believe Cornett had been deceased for several hours, or possibly days.
Nothing indicating a cause of death was found immediately near Cornett, but an empty sleeping pill bottle was found in the sink of the downstairs main bathroom.
There were no signs of forced entry or struggle, and no property was reported missing.
Police say Cornett's ex-wife told them Cornett was in bed with her Monday night and couldn't sleep.
A friend of Cornett's came to the home around 2 a.m. and they began assembling sound equipment in the room in which Cornett died.
The ex-wife says the friend tried to go to sleep on the floor of the same room around 4 a.m. but by 6 a.m. he said he was uncomfortable.
She says she told the friend he could sleep in her bedroom because she had to take the kids to school. She tried to text Cornett after she returned home, but received no reply from him. The friend's vehicle was gone from the home, so she assumed Cornett had gone somewhere with him.
Authorities state it is unclear what the ex-wife did all day May 1, but when she went to check on him around 5 p.m. May 2 she found him deceased in the chair.
The cause of death has not yet been determined.
