St. Louis, MO (KSDK) - St. Louis Police say they have four suspects in custody who may be connected to the carjacking of an off-duty police officer.

Police say the off-duty Bellefontaine Neighbors officer was parked in the 1200 block of McLaran Avenue Sunday evening with his two children. The officer was waiting for his wife when he was approached by two suspects wearing red bandanas, armed with a gun. The suspects ordered the officer out of his car.  The officer was able to grab his children, ages 5 and 6, before the suspects took off in his Jeep Compass.

An officer spotted the Jeep at a Phillips 66 station along West Florissant around 1:50 a.m. Tuesday. Police chased the suspects who jumped from the car in the 700 block of Thrush.

Two of the suspects hiding in a stairwell were captured by K-9 in the 300 block of Christian. The other two suspects were captured by officers at Broadway and Switzer.

No one was injured during either incident.
