Levelland, TX (KCBD/CNN) - A Texas woman, who was adopted as a baby, discovers a brother she never knew she had after almost 50 years.
It happened during a search for her biological parents.
"It was my mission to find him, I had no idea how," said Lori MacInturff.
On Friday morning, with no expectations at all, MacInturff typed out these words: "I have a full blood brother named Matthew David Beaumont. He would be 48 now. I don't know if he knows I exist."
MacInturff believed Beaumont lived in British Columbia, but had no idea exactly where.
"I clicked on Canada and all these towns came up so I just picked one," she said.
Fate would have it that she picked the right one.
"Two hours later I got an email from him. I opened my email. I saw that. I called my husband I said 'Oh my God I got an email from my brother, this is crazy,'" she said.
They quickly set up Skype and laid eyes on each other for the first time.
"Kept reaching up and touching the computer, touching his face, the monitor," she said.
"Emotions are very high. We're still, we're still trying to wrap our heads around everything," said Matt Beaumont.
Before Friday, Beaumont didn't know his sister existed.
"The void in our hearts that we had felt for the last 48 years was filled in that moment," said Beaumont.
"It's a total one in a million chance. You know, this is the stuff you see on Oprah," said MacInturff.
Since then, the siblings have spent countless hours comparing their countless similarities.
"Lori thinks I look like her and I'm convinced she looks like me," said Beaumont.
"Our lips are the same. Our nose is the same. Our eyes are the same, little ears," said MacInturff.
MacInturff says she never imagined this would happen.
"God's always right on time, you know, and I know, left on my own accord, I wouldn't have been posting," she said.
Two people that were reunited by fate get a chance to finally experience that sister and brotherly bond.
"It's like we've know each other all our lives. In our soul we had," said MacInturff.
MacInturff has now introduced her brother to her husband and sons.
They're so happy at finding out about their relationship, he's even moving to Texas to be closer to her and his new family.
