St. Louis (KSDK) - There will be additional security for a St. Louis charter school after a teacher was threatened with a gun.
A 32-year-old man is in police custody after allegedly brandishing the gun on a school parking lot around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Preclarus Master Academy located inside of the Third Baptist Church.
Authorities say the man confronted his ex-girlfriend, a 35-year-old teacher, on the school parking lot.
Police say the man got into her car and ordered her to leave with him.
He held a gun to her head and tried to shoot her, but the gun jammed. Authorities say she was then hit with the gun, but managed to escape and call for help.
The suspect was arrested a short time later.
Principal Daryl McAdoo says at no time were children in danger.
McAdoo says there will be extra security at the school Thursday.
