Granite City, IL (KSDK) - Three people were killed in a traffic accident early Saturday morning in Granite City.
The accident took place in the 2200 block of St. Clair Avenue.
The victims were identified as 30-year-old Rhonda Hall, 28-year-old Johnny Million and 27-year-old Krystal Moss.
Authorities said the vehicle left the roadway, went through a residential yard then struck a tree.
When police arrived the vehicle was overturned. All three occupants of the vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene.
According to Colonel Richard Miller, Chief of the Granite City Police Department, police learned another vehicle was at the scene at the time of the crash but fled the scene.
The driver of that vehicle and his car were taken into custody.
The Madison County State's Attorney's Office and Granite City police said Monday that there was not enough evidence to support charges against the driver.
The exact cause of the accident remains under investigation, Chief Miller said.
