St. Louis (KSDK) - The clock is ticking for St. Louis area parents looking for new schools for their children.
Thousands of students were suddenly displaced when it was announced Imagine Charters schools are shutting down.
The sudden closing of Imagine Schools has led to a series of enrollment fairs like one held Saturday at South City Preparatory Academy. So far two fairs have been held where parents and kids get a chance to meet representatives from a variety of local schools face to face.
"It's difficult because they have been at the same schools for three years and then I have to find schools that will take them," said parent Annette Strickland.
Dozens of local schools have openings for students, along with spots for teachers coming from the shuttered Imagine schools.
"It's kind of rushed and a tad bit overwhelming," said parent Hermelia Thorps.
