Florissant (KSDK) - Police say they have arrested a 17 year old who allegedly vandalized a restored fighter jet that was on display at the James Eagan Civic Center in Florissant over the weekend.

Early Saturday morning, authorities say someone set it on fire and spray painted the words "bangert gang" on the side of the jet.

A second incident occurred early Sunday morning according to officers.

The plane is an F-101 "Voodoo" and was built in the late 1950's.  The Air Force donated it to the city of Florissant in 2004.

Authorities arrested the unidentified teen hiding behind a tree.  Police say that suspect later admitted his role in the crime.

Investigators are working to identify other potential suspects in the vandalism and are expected to present their case to St. Louis County prosecutors sometime this week.
