St. Louis (KSDK) - A 22-year-old man has been charged with armed criminal action, robbery, and assault after police found him by tracking an app on a stolen iPhone.
Police say four friends from south St. Louis County were taking pictures along the flood wall on Leonor K. Sullivan Boulevard Friday when they were robbed by Tyrone Coleman.
After the friends went home, one of the victim's relatives activated an app on his iPhone and through GPS technology they were able to tell police where the phone was.
Detectives tracked it to 3900 block of Parnell where they found a car matching Coleman's description, and some of the stolen property in a trash can in front of the house.
