KSDK - The warmest year on record continues to leave it's mark in the St. Louis history books. At Lambert-St. Louis International Airport the high Sunday was 92 tying a record first set in 1911 and equaled again in 1991. And St. Louis was not alone.
Five other cities in Missouri including Joplin (92), Springfield (91), Columbia (93), West Plains (92) and Vichy-Rolla (95) set or tied records on Sunday while in Illinois, Moline reached 94 for a new record while for O'Hare in Chicago (97) and Rockford (99) it wasn't only the hottest it's ever been...it was the earliest it's ever been this hot.
A cold front arrives in the NewsChannel 5 area on Memorial Day and that will mean afternoon and evening storms and then much cooler weather for the rest of the week. But...
Monday's high should be 94...and if we do get that warm it would be a record...again.
