Marion County, FL (WFTV/CNN) - A runaway tire injured two people in Florida who weren't even on the road.

The tire came off a semi on I-75 on Sunday.

It rolled off the highway, bounced off a car and rolled into a conference room at a nearby hotel.

"Steer tire blowed and um, I had to get off the road and my tire went over the overpass and hit a car. As far as I know the guy okay back there," said truck driver William Harvey.

"I had gone over to the refreshment table to get something to drink and a cookie or two and all of a sudden one of the members said 'look out.' And right at that point, something large and black came right by my side and scratched against my leg, messed up my pants and came in and rolled over. The tire flipped over and it was just smoking like crazy," said hotel visitor Bob Hurst.

The driver of the car hit by the tire was not seriously hurt.

The Florida Department of Transportation is examining the tractor-trailer to determine if charges should be filed.
