St. Louis, MO (KSDK) - Police are looking for an 18-year-old suspect in connection with a shooting in a South St. Louis neighborhood Thursday evening, the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department said.

According to Katie O'Sullivan, a police spokeswoman, the shooting occurred just after 8:55 p.m. at the intersection of Keokuk Street and Virginia Avenue, located in Dutchtown South.

Police said the 26-year-old victim told them he got into an argument over drugs with the suspect, who then fired several shots at the victim before striking him in the leg.

The victim was taken to a local hospital where he was treated and released, O'Sullivan said.

Police said they have identified the suspect and are actively looking to locate him.
