Wellston, Mo (KSDK) -- A St. Louis man shot by a Wellston police officer faces charges.
The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney's Office charged Lamont Lloyd, 24, with assault on a law enforcement officer, armed criminal action and failing to signal when turning.
St. Louis County police said a Wellston police officer pulled over Lloyd near R.M. Moore and Page on Thursday. Lloyd got out of the car and confronted the officer with a handgun. Police said that was when the officer shot Lloyd.
Lloyd was taken to a nearby hospital. He was listed in stable condition and was expected to survive.
Pole said two passengers in the car were initially arrested and have since been released.
