Waynesville, MO (KSDK) -- Pulaski County prosecutors have filed second-degree murder charges against the uncle of a woman who was pronounced dead at a hospital shortly after she allegedly bought and used heroin he had supplied.
Joseph James Fraley, 45, of St. Robert, is also accused of drug distribution in the death of his 32 year old niece, Melanie Fraley, who investigators say had the same St. Robert address as her uncle.
Authorities say they responded to the home near Fort Leonard Wood late Saturday night after learning of an unconscious and unresponsive heroin overdose victim.
The woman was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead a short time later. Deputies at the home questioned the suspect and determined the woman had gotten the heroin and drug paraphernalia about two hours earlier from her uncle.
Joseph Fraley remains in jail on a quarter million dollar bond .
