Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster
St. Louis, MO (KSDK) - Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster reached a settlement Monday with the owner of a closed local monument company regarding headstones he was supposed to provide to families but didn't.
According to the settlement, Jeffrey Thomure, owner and operator of Standard Monument Company, must complete and provide headstones for consumers who purchased but never received them. Thomure must also pay $4,699.14 in restitution to five families who eventually purchased other headstones after Thomure failed to deliver ones they had ordered.
Jeffrey Thomure also agreed to pay the states $2,000 in fines.
Attorney General Chris Koster first filed suit against Standard Monument Company in August 2011.
