St. Louis (KSDK) - After months of problems, the mail is finally back on track in a St. Louis neighborhood.
Residents in the Locust Loft District started complaining to 5 on Your Side about their mail carrier back in April.
They said the man frequently ignored deliveries or misdelivered their mail and they felt like complaints to the post office went nowhere.
The post office told 5 on Your Side a manager was working with the carrier to straighten out the problems.
We just learned the mailman has been taken off the route, much to the delight of the people who live there.
"Just being able to rely on that again is just a huge relief. I don't have to think about 'Am I going to have a missing bill?' Am I going to have a missing letter from somebody? I think, absolutely, 5 on Your Side getting involved definitely helped because you put a spotlight on a problem that had been plaguing us for months and I really do think that helped us get resolution," said resident Deirdre Schaneman.
Because it's a personnel issue, the post office couldn't tell us if the carrier was fired, put on another route or put in another position.
