St. Louis, MO (KSDK) - The longest tenured number-one rated chess player in the world visited the Gateway City Monday with a big announcement for the Chess Club and Scholastic Center of St. Louis.

Grandmaster Garry Kasparov, who held the top chess ranking between 1986 and 2005, is pairing his Kasparov Chess Foundation with the Chess Club and Scholastic Center to find the nation's best and brightest young chess players.

The program is called Young Stars and training with some young chess prodigies begins later this month.

KSDK
