21st Ward arson investigation

St. Louis, MO (KSDK) - Investigators with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department are looking for a man suspected of starting a small fire at the 21st Ward Community Office building.

According to Schron Jackson, a police spokeswoman, the incident occurred in the 4200 block of Natural Bridge Road just before 4:40 a.m.

Police said the suspect poured an accelerant into the building's mail slot and lit the liquid. The city's bomb and arson squad is investigating the incident.

Based on surveillance video taken from the scene, police described the suspect as an African-American man with a dark complexion, 5'10" to 6'2" tall, wearing a black do-rag, white t-shirt, black jeans and white tennis shoes.

21st Ward Alderman Antonio French said no one was hurt in the incident and that damage was minimal.
