East St. Louis, Ill (KSK) -- The Illinois Department of Transportation will close a major ramp for months as part of the Mississippi River Bridge project.
The ramp from westbound I-55/70 to eastbound I-64 and northbound Illinois Route 3 in East St. Louis will be closed beginning July 9, weather permitting.
Crews will remove reataining walls and construct new bridges associated with the bridge project during the closure.
All traffic will be detoured to Illinois Route 203 to Collinsville Road to Exchange Avenue to 11th Street to Baugh Avenue to 15th Street to St. Clair Avenue (IL Route 3).
The work is expected to be finished by December 15, 2012.
