Brothers charged in murder of Destinee Clemons

University City, MO (KSDK) - Prosecutors in University City have charged two brothers in the fatal shooting of 17-year-old Destinee Clemons.

Captain Michael Ransom, a spokesman for the University City Police Department, said Destinee Clemons was sitting on her front porch in the 6500 block of Plymouth on June 21st when she was shot and killed.

Ransom said the investigation led them to Jared and Jeremy Bowers, both of the 7000 block of Melrose. The brothers were charged with two counts of murder 2nd, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon Saturday.

Clemons was a May 2012 graduate of the Individualized Learning Center (ILC) in the Rockwood School District.

Jared, 19, and Jeremy Bowers, 20, are being held in the St. Louis County Jail on a one million dollars bond.
