St. Louis, MO (KSDK) -- Artisans gathered together Monday morning to restore the "Naked Truth" statue in Reservoir Park.
Workers restored and recreated three bronze medallions and re-installed them into the granite base of the bronze statue.
The monument was a gift to St. Louis from the German-American Alliance in 1914, as a memorial to Dr. Emil Preetorius, Carl Schurz and Carl Daenzer, German-American editors of the St. Louis Westliche Post.
The restoration project was financed by public donations.
