St. Louis, MO (KSDK) - A St. Louis police officer was involved in a shooting Wednesday afternoon in a North City neighborhood.
Police say an officer fired at a suspect who is wounded and in stable condition at a local hospital. Injuries are to the shoulder and hip.
The officer involved is a 29-year-old male with 4.5 years of service with the department. He was not injured.
According to Katie O'Sullivan, a spokeswoman for the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the incident occurred in the 4900 block of Terry Avenue.
The St. Louis Circuit Attorney's Office charged 18-year-old Julius Sanford of Nashville, Tennessee with unlawful use of a weapon and resisting arrest. Sanford remains jailed on $30,000 bond.
