Monroe County, IL (KSDK) - The Monroe County Electric Cooperative is asking residents to conserve electric use Friday, June 29 during the peak period of 4 p.m. until 9 p.m.

They're asking people to bump up thermostats a few degrees, not use electric stoves, do laundry, or use hot water from an electric water heater so that a significant impact can be made on the peak period.
