St. Louis, MO (KSDK) - Two people are in custody in connection with a with a fatal shooting that killed two people at a North Hampton apartment complex.
According to Lt. John Green, a police spokesman, the shooting occurred after 7 p.m. Tuesday in the 3200 block of January Avenue at the Hampton Gardens Apartments.
One man was found dead in a second story apartment and the other shooting victim later died at the hospital.
Police found a pair of guns and marijuana inside the apartment, along with a significant amount of shell casings--nearly 20.
Police apprehended a man and a woman in a silver Hyundai SUV a short time later. Two guns were found in the vehicle.
"We believe that our victims knew the suspects so it's not a random incident," said Lt. John Green. "I think we'll get a handle on it and the neighbors can be aware or know they won't have to worry about anybody else coming in at this time."
No charges have been filed. It's still unclear as to whether this was the result of a drug deal.
